Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) Hussey

D.V.M.

About

Dr. Beth Hussey, a proud Fayette High School graduate, received her bachelor’s degree in political science from MU before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989.  Beth worked at Horton Central until she bought into the practice as a partner after Dr. Jack Horton’s retirement in 1999.

Dr. Hussey shares her farm in Rocheport, Missouri, with her two cats, Vinnie and Carmine, and an aged German Shepherd mix named Zooey. She loves riding dressage in her free time, and she has a Thoroughbred gelding named Clifton Billy and a Hanoverian/Throughbred cross named Wolfsfalle.

Dr. Hussey is the voice of “The Pet Place,” which is simulcast every Saturday morning at 8:10 a.m. on KFRU 1400 AM in Columbia and 1240 AM KLIK in Jefferson City.  She serves on the Boone County Vicious Dog Advisory Board, the Columbia/Boone County Board of Health and is a board member of the Missouri Review.  This avid science fiction fan anticipates a future where more and more illnesses can be prevented and treated, and our canine and feline friends’ lifespans can be greatly extended.
